New Releases and Product Updates from Nature’s Head
Posted by Matt Cochran, Owner on Jun 19th 2026
Welcome back to our blog! This month, we’re spotlighting some of our newest products and recent releases. We have a lot of exciting things happening, and we’re glad to share them with you.
Nature’s Head Weekender Composting Toilet
We’ll begin with the Nature’s Head Weekender Composting Toilet. While this model was released almost two years ago, many people are still not aware of this addition to our composting toilet line.
Although we named this version the “Weekender,” it is certainly not just for weekends. The Weekender is almost four inches shorter than our original Nature’s Head, while still retaining the ability to hold up to two weeks of full-time use and up to six months or more of occasional use.
Even the smaller urine tank is nearly as large as many of our competitors’ full-size tanks. The Weekender’s shorter height allows it to fit in many applications where our original Nature’s Head may be too tall, or where it makes sense to place the toilet under a counter or other space-saving area.
Ready-to-Add Coco Coir Compost Mix
Another new product we are excited to offer is our “ready-to-add” Coco Coir compost mix by Coco Absorb.
This product comes pre-packaged at the right volume to fill our full-size Nature’s Head. There is no need to hydrate bricks or guess at the moisture content. It is a refined coir product that has been certified for many different uses, and we plan to share more about this amazing product in a future issue.
We currently offer it in two sizes:
A 9-liter bag, which is enough for one fill of the Original Nature’s Head.
A 33-liter bag, which provides approximately four fills of the Original Nature’s Head.
New Urine Diverting Kit and Urine Diverting Toilet
Next up is our new Urine Diverting Kit and Urine Diverting Toilet, released in January.
The original concept behind the Nature’s Head was to create a self-contained composting toilet that gives users the ability to handle waste disposal themselves. This eliminates the need to find a pump-out station or dump station while RVing, boating, or traveling off-grid.
However, we recognize that a fully self-contained setup may not be ideal for every application. Some customers need a way to divert urine elsewhere, especially in higher-use situations or installations where emptying the standard urine bottle regularly is not convenient.
While it has always been possible to divert urine by attaching a hose to the urine drain spout on the bowl, that method was not always clean or sanitary. In many cases, the hose had to be removed in order to empty the solids bin, which could allow urine to spill.
Our new Urine Diverting Kit solves that issue with a shorter bottle and a raised bottle holder, allowing for a higher drain fixture for gravity drains. The bottle can also be capped before removal, making leakage virtually impossible.
This kit allows the toilet to be used in applications that need to accommodate a larger volume of people or where regularly emptying the standard urine tank is not practical.
The diverting kit will fit any of our Original Nature’s Head toilets. For new customers, it is also available as a Complete Diverting Toilet.
Another key benefit of this kit is that it allows for multi-directional urine diversion. This means the urine does not have to drain straight down through the floor. In some installations, going through the floor may not be practical, especially with an existing slab. This gravity drain system provides the option to route urine through a wall or to a remote tank when that is more convenient.
High-Flow Fan Filter Kits
January also saw the release of our new High-Flow Fan Filter Kits.
These new filters significantly increase the airflow of our current fans while still keeping insects out.
Shell Vent Installation Kit
In March, we began offering an Installation Kit for our Shell Vent.
The Nature’s Head Shell Vent is designed to mount on the outside of a wall and uses a piece of 1 ¼-inch PVC pipe to pass through the wall for the vent hose attachment. Most hardware stores require customers to buy a 10-foot piece of pipe, even though most installations need less than one foot.
Our new installation kit includes one foot of pipe and a trim ring for a clean, finished look on the inside wall. The kit is available with or without the Shell Vent.
A Fun New Toilet Paper Holder Project
Finally, we have a fun little project that started as something I made for a friend. He needed a way to hold his toilet paper so he wouldn’t lose it when the boat was “a-rockin’.”
The TP holder mounts in place of the intake housing opposite the fan. Please note that it may not fit every application, as it adds approximately four inches to the total width of the toilet.
Sneak Peek: Coming in June
Don’t go away! Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming in June.
Look for the release of our second Urine Diverting Toilet. This version will be designed specifically for through-the-floor applications. It is a really neat system, and we can’t wait to make it available.
It will be offered as both a complete system and a retrofit kit for existing toilets.
Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for following along with Nature’s Head!
